Additional Policies by Category

Review the list of policies below to see if any are appropriate for your company. Unless specified otherwise, all policies are applicable to both Canada and the United States. Everything has been formatted to allow you to insert additional policies in your Guide and then update the Table of Contents. You can also create new policies that you may feel are necessary for your company. Just use the same formatting and insert them in the appropriate section of your guide.

In Canada, new laws are in place and effective October 17, 2018 recreational use of marijuana/cannabis will be legal in addition to the medical marijuana laws which have been in place for almost 20 years. There remains many questions about effects of marijuana use, detection,  and what constitutes impairment levels. The legislation however is very clear in that employers reserve the right to prohibit use or possession of marijuana in the workplace, unless medically approved. (as has been the case for many years)
