The Code of Business Conduct is a subset of your Human Resources Policy Guide and contains those policies that are important to employees as they conduct the business of the company on a day to day basis. The Code of Business Conduct is ready to download and distribute. All you have to do is:
- Review the document and add or delete any policies to make it relevant/customized for your company
- After customizing, update the Table of Contents
- Create a cover page for the document
- Customize the Letter From The President (draft letter below) to suit your needs
Remember to get a signed acknowledgement (see form below) from each employee when they have received and read the Code of Business Conduct. You should do this annually to ensure all employees are up to date with new policies and even if there are not any new policies, all employees are refreshed on the Code of Business Conduct. If employees breach the Code of Business Conduct and they have signed an acknowledgement card indicating they understand these important policies, the Company is in a better position to support a possible future termination with cause, depending on the infraction.
